Edible Education workshops combine lunch and learning

The Office of Student Academic Success (OSAS) would like to remind students about our upcoming spring 2017 Edible Education workshops. This informative series of academic workshops will continue to provide students with a free lunch while learning about various topics critical to academic success at NIU. Last year, we saw our largest overall attendance the spring semester and we are hoping to continue providing our students with the same quality programming that they’ve had in the past. The upcoming topics students can look forward to learning more about are:

Internships 101: In a competitive job market experience is important. Join us on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., at the Campus Life Building in room 100, to hear from Career Services and find out more information on how NIU assists you in gaining experience.

Public Speaking: As the competitive job market continues to grow, public speaking has become a vital skill to have. OSAS staff will help equip students with helpful tips and techniques for public speaking. This workshop will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., at the Campus Life Building in room 100.

Time Management: Join us on Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 12-1 p.m., at the Campus Life Building in room 100, as this workshop ensures to help students learn useful tips and ideas to better manage time and increase personal productivity.

Managing Anxiety: On Tuesday, March 7, from 12:30-1:30 p.m., at the Campus Life Building in room 100, the OSAS Student Success Specialists will discuss ways to better manage stress and anxiety.

Career Exploration: Deciding which career to pursue is difficult. The Student Success Specialists will provide information about which careers may best suit you! This workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 29, from 12-1 p.m., at the Campus Life Building in room 100.
