2017 Orientation leader and program intern positions available

October 19, 2016

orientation-leader-portraitOnline applications are currently being accepted for the 2017 orientation leader staff. In addition, for the first time ever, Orientation & Family Connections is offering a new position—orientation program interns. We are excited to begin the application and selection process for the next group of student leaders.

Orientation leaders and program interns play a significant role during both freshmen and transfer orientation programs. It is an incredible opportunity for any undergraduate student who may be interested in gaining significant leadership, communication and team-building skills. Plus, both positions include the benefits of a $1750 stipend and free housing throughout the summer.

We are seeking students with a variety of interests, involvements, backgrounds and academic majors. Most importantly, we are looking for students who are excited to share their experiences at NIU with new students and their family members.

All applicants must attend one 101 session in order to qualify for the positions. The dates for the 101 sessions are Wednesday, Oct. 19, 6:30 p.m., in Room 100, at the Campus Life Building; Wednesday, Oct. 26, 6 p.m., in the Multipurpose Room, Stevenson North; Thursday, Nov. 10, 7:30 p.m., in Room 100, at the Campus Life Building; and Thursday, Nov. 17, 7 p.m., in the Multipurpose Room, at Stevenson North.

The online application is due Friday, Nov. 30, by 4 p.m. Feel free to contact Orientation & Family Connections with any questions at orientation@niu.edu or 815-753-1535. Position descriptions and FAQ’s can be found at go.niu.edu/olapp.
