Homecoming activities to close parking lot

October 17, 2016

no-parking-homepage-portraitFrom 10 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19, and all day Thursday, Oct. 20, Parking Lot 3 (south of the Visual Arts and Music buildings) will be closed so that it can be utilized for NIU Homecoming activities.

Blue permit holders who normally use Lot 3 are asked to find alternative parking in other campus lots. Suggestions include the parking deck, Lot 2 and Lot 5 (blue lots near the Campus Life Building and Anderson Hall). Lots A, B, E and V (yellow lots along Kishwaukee Drive) will be open to all blue permit holders Oct. 20. Blue permit holders will not be ticketed for parking in a yellow lot on Oct. 20.

Those who have reserved parking spaces will be allowed to park in the visitor lot located on Carroll Avenue at no charge. (Yellow permit holders may also need to find alternate parking in other yellow lots for the day.)

Campus Parking Services recognizes that this will cause a temporary disruption in the normal parking routine for some of our customers, but patience and cooperation are requested as the staff do their part to help make Homecoming a success.
