Nominations are requested for the third annual Innovation Recognition Ceremony, which acknowledges the contributions of individuals and teams at NIU for their achievements in innovation.

A select group of nominees will have the opportunity to present a poster at the ceremony, scheduled for Wednesday, April 20.

Examples include innovation in the development of novel ideas, technologies, processes, products and services and in their application to address societal problems, meet societal needs and expand human opportunities.

This definition encompasses not only scientific and technological innovations, but also the production and application of novel ideas in scholarship, the arts, organization, pedagogy, diagnosis and treatment, human performance and other forms of individual and social enterprise.

Nominations will be accepted from faculty, who may self-nominate or nominate other faculty, students and staff. The deadline is 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 28.

Nominations will be reviewed by staff members of the Division of Research & Innovation Partnerships and small ad hoc committee. Certificates will be presented at the Innovation Recognition Ceremony from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, in Altgeld Hall 315.
