Looking to become more independent in your research? Interested in learning more about your major and future career?

The Student Engagement Fund is a collaborative effort by the Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences to provide stipends for students working on faculty-mentored research projects and to support undergraduate student engagement projects.

Students and faculty are encouraged to apply.

Projects funded include mentored student research, mentored service-learning, NIU faculty-led Study Abroad programs and field schools and travel to conferences or competitions or group travel for class activities.

The summer application deadline has been extended to Tuesday, March 1, only for Study Abroad funding; the fall application deadline is Tuesday, March 15. Applications are available online.
