A workshop on grant management is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Jan. 22, in Altgeld Hall 315.
The goal of this session is to provide administrative and academic perspectives for managing grants.
The first part of the session will introduce the support available through Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA) for managing sponsored awards and explain how to navigate the labyrinth of administrative responsibilities that accompany sponsored funding.
SPA grant administrators will talk about how they support grants management, review expectations of investigators and highlight the most common policies and procedures investigators need to be know about when managing sponsored funding at NIU.
The second part of the session will include a small panel of successfully funded NIU investigators who will share their grants management experience as well as tips on how they balance their investigator roles with teaching, service and other faculty activities.
