Northern Illinois University College of Law was listed by National Jurist magazine as one of only 38 law schools in the nation experiencing double digit improvements in graduate employment rates in 2014.

With a 12.2 percent increase over 2013 employment rates, NIU Law was recognized as being well above the average improvement rate of 6% across all law schools, according to figures released recently by the American Bar Association.

NIU Law Dean Jennifer Rosato Perea said, “Through the tireless efforts of our career success office, dedicated alumni, faculty and administrators, we have remained absolutely committed to helping our graduates find full-time employment in the areas of their utmost interest – and it’s great to see those efforts continuing to pay off.”

NIU College of Law – the only public law school in the Chicago area – has been named a top law school nationally for diversity, value, and careers in public interest/government service.  NIU Law provides unique opportunities for its students, beginning with its highly accomplished faculty who are personally invested in the success of their students throughout their careers.  Although many alumni serve as public interest attorneys, prosecutors, defenders, elected officials, and judges, they are equally prepared for careers as solo practitioners and/or lawyers in multinational firms.
