Chair of the Board of Trustees of Northern Illinois University John Butler will join the presidents of Illinois’ public universities for meetings with legislative leaders Tuesday in Springfield to advocate for investment in higher education in the state’s fiscal 2016 budget.
Chair Butler and the university presidents will meet with House Speaker Michael Madigan, Senate President John Cullerton, House Republican Leader Jim Durkin, Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno and Mike Zolnierowicz, Gov. Bruce Rauner’s chief of staff, at the Illinois State Capitol.
Chicago State University President Wayne Watson, Eastern Illinois University President David M. Glassman, Governors State University President Elaine P. Maimon, University of Illinois President Timothy L. Killeen, Illinois State University President Larry Dietz, Northeastern Illinois University President Sharon Hahs, Southern Illinois University President Randy J. Dunn and Western Illinois University Board of Trustees Chair Cathy E. Early are scheduled to join Butler in Springfield.
