The vice provost for faculty affairs, working under guidelines from the executive vice president and provost, is responsible for fostering faculty engagement, development and support; providing strategic direction for faculty-related initiatives; and assisting the provost with faculty tenure, promotion and sabbatical processes.
Other responsibilities include establishing faculty development opportunities that cover the faculty life cycle; assisting with faculty-related problems and needs; handling faculty personnel matters; supervising reporting units; collaborating with other divisions on addressing faculty needs; serving as the provost’s liaison to other divisions and committees on faculty-related policies and support services; exploring opportunities for recognizing faculty for their excellence and contributions; and handling other duties as assigned.
