Race NIjUdicata 5K, BBQ planned April 11

April 3, 2015

law-5kSpring into action and join the NIU College of Law for the 2015 edition of its annual 5K Run/Walk and BBQ.

Dust off those running shoes, stretch out those legs and get ready to hit the road Saturday, April 11. All runners, walkers, volunteers and sponsors to invited to participate in this exciting, Dean Jennifer Rosato Perea-inspired event.

Prizes will be awarded in several categories.

In addition to good exercise, the best part of the run/walk is at the end of the race where all are welcome to stay and enjoy a tasty BBQ lunch.

Once again, this year’s proceeds will go toward the Bar Scholarship Award, which will allow students to devote their full efforts to prepare for the bar exam.

For those who are unable to join the festivities in DeKalb but still want to contribute to the cause, the first-ever Race NIjUdicata Virtual Run is available.

During online registration, check the box for “Virtual Run” instead of running or walking. Then, no matter where virtual racers are April 11, they can complete 5K runs and email their times to mmitchell@niu.edu. Virtual runners’ times will not be considered official and will not be taken into account for race standings or awards.

Those who send photos of their virtual runs will see those accompanying their virtual run times on the NIU Law website.
