NIU Sierra Leone program postponed until 2016

Sierra-LeoneNorthern Illinois University’s Study Abroad Office announced the postponement of its planned 2015 study abroad program in Sierra Leone until summer, 2016.

“In International Affairs, we believe that continued engagement with west African nations is crucial for true understanding and a global perspective,” says NIU Associate Vice President Deborah Pierce.“We look forward to coordinating the program in Sierra Leone in 2016.”

The program, proposed by sociology associate professor Abu Bah and political science director of graduate studies Scot Schraufnagel, will focus on providing students with knowledge about political, economic and social issues in Africa.
