All 27 Northern Illinois University home basketball games, along with two volleyball matches, two gymnastics meets, two wrestling meets and NIU’s football signing day press conference will be broadcast live on ESPN3 as part of its school content production schedule.

NIU’s first live game broadcast on ESPN3 will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, as the Huskie volleyball team hosts Bowling Green.

Announced earlier this fall, NIU is one of three Mid-American Conference institutions, along with Buffalo and Central Michigan, selected to be part of the initial season of the league’s ESPN school content production program.

Along with its 12 regular season home games, the NIU women’s basketball team will also have a pair of road games, Jan. 10 at Central Michigan and Jan. 24 at Buffalo, shown on ESPN3, bringing NIU’s total to at least 14 games on the ESPN Network. NIU will also appear on The SEC Network on Dec. 14 when the Huskies play at Missouri. The game will be seen on SEC Network +.

In addition to its 15 home contests, the NIU men’s basketball team will make four other appearances on ESPN3 during the 2014-15 season. NIU’s conference games at Buffalo (Jan. 14) and Central Michigan (Feb. 18) will air on ESPN3, along with non-conference matchups at Iowa (Nov. 26) and at Notre Dame (Dec. 22). The Huskies will also appear on Fox Sports 1 on Dec. 2, when they travel to DePaul, bringing the total number of men’s basketball games broadcast to at least 20 this season.

Huskie volleyball will be featured on ESPN3 twice as NIU’s Nov. 15 home finale against Eastern Michigan will be broadcast, in addition to Saturday’s Bowling Green match

NIU wrestling will make two appearances on ESPN3 as its dual meets with Eastern Michigan (Feb. 6) and Buffalo (Feb. 20) will be broadcast. NIU gymnastics will also be featured twice as its Feb. 15 tri-meet with Alaska and Bowling Green will be shown live on ESPN3, as well the State of Illinois Classic on March 7.

On Wednesday, Feb. 4, NIU will also broadcast its Football Signing Day press conference live on ESPN3.

ESPN3 is ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually. It is accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and streamed on televisions through Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast (via the WatchESPN app), Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
