NIU’s Couple and Family Therapy Clinic (CFTC) will host an open house from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at its location in the north wing of Wirtz Hall.

Formerly known as the Family Therapy Clinic, the CFTC provides mental health treatment for people experiencing difficulties whether they are dealing with very ordinary troubles, more persistent difficulties or more severe reactions to life’s stresses.

In addition, the Couple and Family Therapy Clinic provides specialized couples assessments for all stages and facets of relationships, including marriage, engagement and cohabitation.

“We are a training and research facility and our clinic supports the Marriage and Family Therapy program in the School of FCNS,” said Barbara Cuppett, director of the center. “As marriage and family therapists, we are specially trained to work with couples and families, as well as individual clients, too.”
