Join fellow Northern Illinois University football fans and travel in comfort to watch the NIU Huskies take on Northwestern on Sept. 6 at Ryan Field in Evanston.
Any Huskie fan can sign up now to ride the bus on one of two routes being offered by the Huskie Athletic Fund for just $40 for the round trip ride.
One bus will leave from the NIU Convocation Center in DeKalb at 9:30 a.m. and stop at the NIU-Naperville campus (1120 E. Diehl Road, Naperville) and at the Oak Brook Center (100 Oakbrook Center, Oak Brook), while the second bus will depart from the NIU-Rockford campus (8500 E. State St., Rockford) at 9:30 a.m. and stop at the NIU campus in Hoffman Estates (5555 Trillium Blvd., Hoffman Estates) before making its way to Evanston.
The Huskie fan buses will arrive at Ryan Field approximately three hours prior to the 2:30 p.m. kickoff, in time for fans to attend the NIU Alumni Association tailgate (separate registration required). The bus will depart approximately 30 minutes after the end of the game and return to the original pickup locations.
Registration for the Huskie fan bus trip to Ryan Field, departing from either DeKalb or Rockford, and for complete information on parking areas and the bus route, is available online or by calling 815-753-PACK (7225) between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Note that game tickets as well as admission to the NIU Alumni Association tailgate, for fans who wish to attend that event, are not included in the $40 cost of the bus trip.
The last day to purchase tickets to the NIU-Northwestern football game through the NIU Athletics Ticket Office, and be guaranteed seats in the NIU sections of the stadium, is 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20. Tickets are $40 each.
The Huskies kick off the 2014 season Thursday, Aug. 28, versus Presbyterian.
