Reese selected for ADA Leadership Board

The American Diabetes Association-Wisconsin announced that Northern Illinois University alumna Amanda K. Reese, an attorney and partner with the Madison office of Michael, Best & Friedrich LLP, has joined the Leadership Board for the American Diabetes Association-Wisconsin.

Reese’s area of expertise is in Healthcare – specifically HIPPAA/HITECH and Wisconsin Privacy Laws, Regulatory Compliance and Contract Review. Reese previously served as the associate counsel & privacy officer for the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation, Inc. Prior to beginning her health law career she set her sights on becoming a veterinarian, and earned her bachelor of science in Animal Science, but was later inspired to earn an NIU Law degree.

“We are delighted to have Amanda join the Leadership Board for the American Diabetes Association in Wisconsin,” said Sally Sheperdson, executive director of the American Diabetes Association of Wisconsin. “Her leadership and passion will help us further our movement to stop diabetes.”

The American Diabetes Association is leading the Stop Diabetes® campaign and the disease’s deadly consequences by fighting for those affected by diabetes. The Association funds research to prevent cure and manage diabetes; delivers services to hundreds of communities; provides objective and credible information; and gives voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes. Founded in 1940, our mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
