NIU seeks new Bold Futures Workshops participants

March 24, 2014

Bold Futures banner: College of Engineering and Engineering TechnologyNorthern Illinois University is seeking new participants to join in the Bold Futures Workshops series scheduled from Friday, March 28, through Wednesday, April 2. NIU students, faculty, staff and alumni as well as community members are welcome to participate by registering as a new participant.

Most workshop sessions will be located in the Holmes Student Center Sky Room. Exact location will be sent to registrants prior to the session date.

These Bold Futures workshops are critical in continuing the important work of creating and implementing solutions to the student recruitment and retention challenges the university is facing. The goal of this continuing dialogue is to focus on ways to “deliver a positive student experience” at every stage of a student’s engagement with NIU.

Workshop sessions will discuss issues concerning financials, recruitment and retention as well as recognizing the need to be relevant in terms of today’s students’ interests and concerns and today’s job market opportunities.

Participants will also be invited to the Big Bold Event celebration taking place on April 24. From 5 to 6 p.m. at the Duke Ellington Ballroom, results of the student experience assignment will be on display, and four teams will be invited to produce a “Pecha Kucha”-style presentation.
