March 7, 2014

Bold Futures banner: College of Engineering and Engineering TechnologyFollowing spring break, NIU will hold the next round of Bold Futures workshops to continue the critically important work of creating and implementing solutions to the student recruitment and retention challenges the university is facing.

The goal of this continuing dialogue is to focus on ways to “deliver a positive student experience” at every stage of a student’s engagement with NIU.

More than 650 faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members participated in the first Bold Futures workshops last October. Valuable insights were obtained from these workshops which energized participants and resulted in some significant new initiatives.

Participants from those workshops are invited to sign up for spring Bold Futures workshops from Wednesday, March 19, through Tuesday, March 25, by registering at the returning participants website.

Additionally, new participants are invited to join in the Bold Futures Workshops series scheduled from Friday, March 28, through Wednesday, April 2, by registering as a new participant.

Most workshop sessions will be located in the Holmes Student Center Sky Room. Exact location will be sent to registrants prior to the session date.

Workshop sessions will discuss issues concerning financials, recruitment and retention as well as recognizing the need to be relevant in terms of today’s students’ interests and concerns and today’s job market opportunities.
