Christine Clemente Dos Santos, an assistant professor of medical laboratory sciences in the NIU School of Allied Health and Communicative Disorders, will speak Thursday, Jan. 30, on “Transfusion Trends in Veterinary Medicine.”

The event, which begins at 6 p.m., is sponsored by the Northwest Branch of American Society for Clinical Laboratory Sciences of Illinois. Masih Shokrani, an associate professor in medical laboratory sciences at NIU, is branch president.

ASCLS is preeminent voice of all clinical laboratory professionals, creating a vision for the advancement of the clinical laboratory practice field and advocating the value and the role of the profession in ensuring safe, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centered health care.

Dos Santos will speak in Room 2305 of the NIU Family Health, Wellness and Literacy Center, located at 3100 Sycamore Road in DeKalb. Pizza will be provided.
