Circus Spectacular set to dazzle Convo Center

January 21, 2014

Circus Spectacular logoA cultural kaleidoscope of color and opulent panorama of pageantry kicks off a star-studded line up as Circus Spectacular rolls into the NIU Convocation Center at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4.

Enchanting elephants, tantalizing tigers and amazing acrobats prepare to dazzle and astound.

This year’s circus is all new, including an original new score, beautiful new costumes and thrilling feats, many never attempted in the United States previously.

“Every year, we scour the world to find the best performances,” said George Carden, founder of the Circus Spectacular. “We’re bringing a big show, the biggest we’ve ever put together. The spirit of the circus is to top anything and everything, each year.”

Slated to appear are:

  • Magnificent Tigers. Dangerous, dynamic beasts of incredible beauty perform in the steel cage as their trainer courageously cues the wild and whiskered warriors to action. They are untamed, untethered and utterly unpredictable!
  • Priceless Pachyderms. It’s disco time. A paramount parade of powerful pachyderms performing in time with the music.
  • Guiming Meng. A talented guest from China will entertain with his unique balancing act.
  • Extreme Circus Riders. The fast-paced, highly energized two-wheeled sensations are not for the faint of heart.

Tickets go on sale at noon Friday, Jan. 24. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office.

Prices are $18 for general admission seating. Reserved seats are available for $24. General admission seating coupons for buy-one-adult-ticket, get-one-child-ticket are available. Children who have not yet reached their third birthday are free but must sit in their parents’ laps.
