NIUTEL has been a part of Information Technology Services for more than 25 years, delivering telecommunications services to the campus.
Part of ITS Network & Communication Services, the team name has been changed to ITS Communication Services. The new name better describes the current range of services and looks ahead to future offerings.
Located in the ITS Contact Center (Telephone and Security Building 114), Communication Services core functions include:
- Mobility Support
- Telecommunications Services & Support
- Work Order Billing & Processing
- University Information: (815) 753-1000
The NIUTEL email address has been changed to itscommsvcs@niu.edu. Temporarily, email sent to niutel@niu.edu will be redirected to the new mailbox to minimize disruptions.
The Customer Partner program has been discontinued in favor of a pooled resource service delivery model. Call (815) 753-0963 for assistance from a Communications Services team member.
The Communication Services team will continue to assist internal and external customers with the highest level of professional and technical expertise possible.
