Students can ride buses to MAC Championship

NIU Huskie Football fansAfter a thrilling victory Wednesday over Toledo, the NIU Huskie football team is returning Friday, Dec. 6, to the MAC Championship football game.

Student Involvement & Leadership Development is chartering buses to Ford Field in Detroit so students can cheer Coach Rod Carey and Co. onto a third consecutive conference crown.

A limited number of student fan bus packages will be available for purchase beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25. Student fan bus package ticket sales close at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, or earlier if they sell out.

NIU student fan bus tickets are $15. The fan bus package includes:

  • Coach bus travel to Ford Field and a return trip to DeKalb
  • Dinner Friday evening
  • One NIU student MAC football game ticket

Check-in for the student fan bus package will occur in lot C3 (North of the Convocation Center) at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6. There will be one stop for lunch (at the student’s expense), and dinner will be provided when the bus arrives in Detroit.

Students will not be permitted to bring any liquids onto the bus, and bags will be searched.

Buses will leave Ford Field immediately following the game.

Student fan bus packages are non-transferable and non-refundable. No exceptions. Only NIU students in good academic and judicial standing will be allowed to participate in the student fan bus package.
