Convocation Center parking mapA number of changes, including free parking for Huskie men’s basketball and women’s basketball, will greet fans this season at the NIU Convocation Center.

Among the other new changes, admission will no longer be charged for NIU gymnastics and wrestling competitions at the facility.

In an effort to steamline parking processes, only lots C-2 and C-3 will be available for basketball parking this season, lots C-1 and C-4, located on the west side and behind the building, will be closed. All lots will open 90 minutes prior to tip-off. Designated parking  for Huskie Athletic Support Fund donors will be available in lot C-2. Donors who want to park in lot C-3 are welcome to do so, however only lot C-2 will have a reserved parking area for donors.

Along with free parking, fans should note that only gates 2, 4 and 5, which are the entrances on the east side at the main ticket office, at the south lobby and across from the new rec fields on the north side of the facility, will be available for entry this season.

Fans will not be able to access the Convocation Center through Gates 1 and 3.

Also new this season, all tickets sold will be located in the lower bowl, with general admission seating now located in the west end zone, sections 116, 117 and 118.

The NIU men’s basketball team will open the regular season Friday, Nov. 8, when it hosts Nebraska Omaha at 7 p.m. The Huskie women’s basketball team will host Mississippi Valley State on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m., in their regular season home opener.
