Illinois Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas L. Kilbride will present a lecture on professionalism from 4 to 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the Regency Room of the Holmes Student Center.

Chief Justice Kilbride will discuss ethical issues and challenges for lawyers as part of the NIU College of Law’s Murer Speaker Series on Professionalism.

The lecture series, now in its third year, was designed for first-year students to further integrate professionalism into the law school curriculum, in response to the growing recognition that law students (and lawyers) need more guidance in professionalism to further the highest values of the profession.

The program consists of several lectures featuring nationally recognized legal practitioners and scholars discussing cutting-edge issues, and is being funded through the generosity of Cherilyn (’78) and Michael Murer, whose dedication to professionalism is infused throughout the series.
