Pitch a tent: ‘Camp on Campus’ begins Friday

Camp on CampusAll are welcome to participate in Outdoor Adventures’ third annual Camp on Campus.

The event is scheduled from 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, through 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the West Lagoon near Eco Woods and Stevenson South Residence Hall.

Camp on Campus is to build community in the outdoors in an educational, recreational and celebratory manner. Outdoor Adventures invites you to camp out and participate in outdoor skill clinics.

Camping packages, including tents, sleeping bags and sleeping pads, are free. Campers also enjoy complimentary dinner and breakfast.

The evening offers several opportunities to canoe or kayak and learn about the environment, the night sky, nutrition and camping skills.

Other activities include slacklining (which involves using a low tightrope to practice balancing that is used for outdoor adventure activities such as rock climbing), team-building games, and pick-up games of volleyball, ladder golf, Frisbee as well as a bags tournament. Play an instrument? All are welcome to come out and jam as you relax around the campfire.
