NIU announces fall ACT test prep schedule

Photo of a person taking a test with a No. 2 pencilThe Northern Illinois University Fall ACT Test preparation program provides individualized attention in a small classroom setting and offers students a chance to best prepare themselves for the ACT test.

The program begins Sunday, Oct. 6, and be held on consecutive Sundays until Nov. 3 in Graham Hall Room 334 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. NIU parking is free on Sundays.

Enrollment is limited; registration is now open.

NIU’s program covers English, math, reading and science reasoning.

The NIU ACT instructors include Lance Vobornik, an experienced mathematics instructor at NIU with a master’s degree in applied mathematics; Rosalind Bowers, an experienced English teacher at the high school- and college-level with a master’s degree in English; and Melissa Craig, an experienced teacher at St. Thomas More School.

Schedule:

  • Oct. 6 – Pre-test
  • Oct. 13 – English
  • Oct. 20 – Math
  • Oct. 27 – Reading and Science Reasoning
  • Nov. 3 – Post-test

Cost is $250 ($275 after Friday, Sept. 27) which includes instruction, book, CD-ROM and retired ACT tests. It does not include registration to take the actual ACT test.
