The Northern Illinois wrestling team signed four recruits Wednesday, as Jacob Cochrane (Island Lake, Ill./Carmel Catholic), Jacob Haydock (Brandon, Fla./Brandon) Shaunqae McMurtry (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) and Jordan Northrup (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) will join the Huskies in 2013.

The trio brings NIU’s recruiting class to six, as the team added Sal Annoreno (Hanover Park, Ill./Bartlett) and Austin Culton (Sycamore, Ill./Sycamore) to the fray in November.

“The addition of these young men will address some specific needs within our roster,” said NIU head coach Ryan Ludwig. “These guys are our brand in that they love to wrestle and thrive on competition. My staff and I are proud to add them to the program and we can’t wait to get them on campus.”

Three of the four newest signees come to NIU from northern Illinois, as Cochrane hails from Island Lake, Ill., McMurtry grew up in Lockport, Ill., and Northrup comes from Machesney Park, Ill. Meanwhile, Haydock joins the Huskies from the Tampa-St. Petersburg suburb of Brandon, Fla.
