Due to unplayable weather conditions in DeKalb, today’s games between the baseball and softball teams of Northern Illinois and Illinois-Chicago have been canceled with no rescheduled dates.
The Mid-American Conference co-leading baseball team (9-3) will return to action this weekend for a three-game series at Ohio, beginning at 5 p.m. CT Friday, April 19.
Northern Illinois shares the conference lead with reigning College World Series participant Kent State and leads the MAC West, four games ahead of a four-way tie for second place.
NIU’s softball team (13-26, 3-7) resumes MAC play this weekend when it travels to Kent State and Buffalo. NIU will face the Golden Flashes in a doubleheader Friday while the game against the Bulls will be Saturday and Sunday.
