Three candidates for the position of vice president for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management will be on campus at Northern Illinois University next week. The candidates, their schedules and vitae will be available for public consumption in the days leading up to the event.
The Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management invites students to become active community members and inspires them to succeed in their individual pursuit of learning as they transform into dynamic leaders.
Reporting to the president, the vice president for Student Affairs & Enrollment Management serves as the senior enrollment and student affairs officer for the university and is a member of the Council of Deans and the president’s Senior Cabinet.
The vice president is responsible for the leadership, management, development, and coordination of student recruitment, student development, and student services, programs and activities. The vice president works collaboratively with members of the Division of Academic Affairs to promote enrollment management as a comprehensive, integrated approach toward enhancing and improving the recruitment, retention and graduation of students.
Overseeing 23 departments that comprise the division, the vice president directs a staff of 1,165 and a budget of $23.3 million. The vice president develops student recruitment objectives and strategies to enhance and support student recruitment activities and provides essential institutional support services that maintain a comprehensive, diverse and successful student body from admission to graduation.
The vice president develops programs and policies that enhance the quality of student life; provides institutional support services that enable students to accomplish their educational objectives; facilitates opportunities for academic, personal and social development of students; coordinates intentional links between formal academic learning and the student life experiences; and coordinates the university response and assistance to students in crisis situations.
