School of Music to host April 3 concert of works from minds of NIU student, faculty composers

Photo of musical scoreThe NIU School of Music will host a concert of music by NIU student and faculty composers at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, in the Recital Hall of the Music Building.

The concert is free and open to public, and the building is accessible to all.

This diverse program will feature instrumental and vocal music by undergraduate student composers Jared Elwart, MJ Halco, Kyle Krause and Eli Vainowski; graduate student composers Hong Hong Hui and Katelyn Kozinski; and faculty composers Robert Fleisher and David Maki.

Most works heard on the program will be receiving their first public performance.

School of Music faculty members Diane Ragains (soprano), William Koehler (piano), Maki (piano) and Ronnie Wooten (conductor) will join with more than three dozen student performers.
