National Society of Collegiate Scholars plans induction of new members at April 2 ceremony

National Society of Collegiate Scholars logoThe National Society of Collegiate Scholars organization at NIU is planning its annual New Member Induction Ceremony, scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, in the Carl Sandburg Auditorium of the Holmes Student Center.

During the induction ceremony, new members will be presented with their pin of membership and introduced to the new inductees and their guests.

Boasting chapters at 300 colleges and universities nationwide, including all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, NSCS provides outstanding first- and second-year college students with recognition for their academic excellence.

Eligible students rank in the top 10 percent of their classes and maintain GPS of 3.4 or higher.

NSCS members are deeply committed to scholarship, leadership and service and, as a result, are impacting their campus and local communities every day. The organization offers career and graduate school connections, leadership and service opportunities. Nearly $500,000 in scholarships are awarded annually.
