Faculty, staff can nominate exemplary seniors for awards applauding excellence in leadership

March 1, 2013

Photo of hands clappingWho are the graduating seniors who have a healthy disregard for the impossible? Who are principled in their interactions with others and use their core values to guide their efforts, both personally and professionally?

And who has made a meaningful contribution to NIU, the broader community and society?

These are the individuals the university seeks to recognize (along with their families) prior to spring commencement at Applauding Excellence in Leadership: A Recognition Breakfast for Graduating Seniors.

Kelly Wesener Michael, acting vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, will host this event at 7 a.m. Saturday, May 11, in the Altgeld Hall Auditorium.

This event will serve as a great opportunity to celebrate students’ leadership contributions. Exemplary students will receive a leadership medallion to wear with their cap and gown at Commencement. Honorees will be notified the week of April 1.

Nomination forms are available online. Faculty and staff nominators are asked to return the completed forms to Tricia Fisher via e-mail to pfisher@niu.edu no later than 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19.
