If you’re a new transfer student looking for some affordable digs upon your NIU arrival, the Undergraduate Admissions Office might have a valuable housing opportunity for you.
Admitted transfer students joining the Huskie community in Fall 2013 will be eligible for the Transfer Center Residential Scholar Award, a scholarship providing 20 students with free housing in Stevenson Towers for one full academic school year.
“The scholarship provides student leaders with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Huskie community and develop friendships and bonds that will last beyond their college careers,” said Arielle Kalvelage, Transfer Center Residential Scholarship coordinator and senior admissions counselor.
Eligible students must have at least 24 transfer hours, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the time of application and proof of extensive extracurricular involvement.
Additionally, students who earn the award will be required to participate in the 2013 Move-in Day, as well as NIU Open House events.
The application deadline is Tuesday, April 2. For more information, contact Arielle Kalvelage at (815) 753-0446 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
