SACNAS chapter hosts Marisa Alicea Feb. 26

NIU’s chapter of Advancing Hispanics/Chicanos & Native Americans in Sciences (SACNAS) will host Marisa Alicea, associate professor and dean of the School for New Learning at DePaul University, from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26.

This event takes place in the Smart Classroom of the Latino Resource Center, 515 Garden Road.

Alicea, co-author of two books, earned her Ph.D. in sociology from Northwestern University. She is regarded as an authority in fields of immigration issues for Latino and migration patterns within Latino communities.

Students are highly encouraged to attend this event. SACNAS board members will provide information to anyone interested in becoming a part of this prestigious organization.
