February 5, 2013

NIU Cares Day 2012Registration for NIU Cares Day 2013 is now available online.

Entering its seventh year, NIU Cares Day continues to be a phenomenal campus and community-wide day of community service.

On Saturday, April 20, students, faculty and staff members will be transported throughout DeKalb County to complete service projects that benefit non-profit community agencies as well as individual residents in need.

Past partners have included the DeKalb Park District, Salvation Army, TAILS Humane Society, DeKalb District 428 schools and the DeKalb and Sycamore public libraries.

Students are encouraged to sign up as a volunteer team or individually (register with Team-NIU Cares). Student organizations, residence hall floors and groups of friends or colleagues are encouraged to register as a team.

To register a team, email niucaresday@niu.edu with the contact information (name and email address/phone) of the individual who will serve as the team leader. The team leader is the primary contact person for the group.

Registration will continue until Friday, March 22.

NIU Cares Day committee members are also available to attend organization meetings to provide information and answer questions. For more information, contact Destiny McDonald at driley2@niu.edu or (815) 753-6511.
