NIU’s Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management will host a photo contest within the university community to honor and celebrate its commitment to the “Northern PACT.”
The 2012-2013 Community Lens Contest begins today with the start of spring classes.
All students are encouraged to submit a photo (or two) that depicts their vision of a DISCIPLINED community: where group members accept their responsibility, and expectations guide behavior for the common good.
All submissions are to be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15.
Winners will be announced Friday, Feb. 22, and entries will be displayed in the Holmes Student Center Gallery during Northern PACT Awareness Week.
The other PACT principles are:
- JUST: where all people are valued and supported while they learn from the diversity of our community.
- CARING: where the well-being of all is supported, and service to others is encouraged.
- OPEN: where freedom of expression is welcomed, and others are respected.
- CELEBRATIVE: where traditions are honored, and both past and new rituals are embraced.
Last spring’s contest focused on the “OPEN” principle. Winners were Kristen Patenaude (first place), Rebecca Krueger (second place) and Jerry Burnes (third place).
