Northern Illinois University will maintain the published winter holiday break schedule, and university offices will be closed from the end of the business day on Friday, Dec. 21, through Tuesday, Jan. 1.
University offices will reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
“Following consultation with staff council representatives, we have encouraged employees to attend and/or celebrate Orange Bowl festivities on Jan. 1,” said Steven D. Cunningham, NIU vice president for administration. “Colleges and divisions have been advised to make every effort to accommodate vacation requests in association with the winter break and Orange Bowl, subject to essential services and operations.”
