The NIU College of Business again partnered with the ELS Language Center at NIU and the FLRP program to sponsor the second annual International Dance and Global Village Potluck on the final day of International Education Week.
More than 300 members of the NIU, ELS and DeKalb community were welcomed Friday, Nov. 16, into Barsema Hall for a night of food and fun.
The international tasting began at 5:30 p.m., with food catered by local ethnic restaurants including Mediterraneo, Yen Ching and Rosita’s Mexican Restaurant.
Dishes brought by students and faculty supplemented the tasting. Tables were packed with guests from around the world, socializing and enjoying world music.
Following the tasting, welcome remarks were given by Paul Prabhaker, associate dean of the College of Business; Wendi Raulie, director of the ELS Language Center; and Deborah Pierce, associate provost of International Programs.
Guests then were treated to cultural performances from Thailand and Cuba before everyone danced the night away to a DJ.
