The Harvest Invitational allows NIU alumni, friends and members of the Chicago community a rare opportunity to test their skills on the world-class course that played host to the 2009 Solheim Cup and the 2012 Mid-American Conference Men’s Golf Championship.

Foursomes will compete in a four-person scramble.

The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. with registration, a lunch buffet and a chance for golfers to take some swings on the practice range. Golfers will hit the course with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., followed by dinner, awards and  a silent auction at 6 p.m.

For an additional fee, foursomes can play with a current Huskie golfer, who will offer valuable advice on the difficult course. NIU Director of Golf Tom Porten and Huskie women’s head coach Kim Kester also will be on hand to discuss the fall season and to offer instructional opportunities.

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the NIU golf program.

A limited number of spots remain for this year’s event. To register, fill out the online form or call (815) 753-1923.

For more information, contact Shelley Binegar, NIU associate athletics director for external affairs, at (815) 753-0800 or sbinegar@niu.edu.
