Charles Howell
Charles Howell, chair of the Department of Leadership, Educational Psychology and Foundations in the NIU College of Education, is retiring.
Howell, a former K-12 teacher in Maine and Georgia who began his higher education career in 1986 at Syracuse University, came to NIU in 2007.
During his time at NIU, Howell oversaw the creation of a Ph.D. degree in educational psychology, which the department will begin to offer this fall.
A farewell reception is planned from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, in the Sky Room of the Holmes Student Center. All are welcome.
