NIU’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will host its annual benefit concert, “Rock Forward, Together,” at 8 p.m. Friday, May 4
Since the tragedy of Feb. 14, 2008, PRSSA’s NIU chapter has held a benefit concert in remembrance of those lives that were lost and to continue the healing process on campus.
“It’s a really great cause that not many students know about, and this year we want to make sure that students are more aware of the cause: healing through music,” said Colleen Krohn, president of NIU PRSSA.
“The event helps students demonstrate their commitment to move forward and grow together as a community. I am very proud of NIU PRSSA students who have been organizing this event since 2008. The event has now become an important tradition for them,” said Induk Kim, faculty adviser to NIU PRSSA.
The event is open to public at $5 a ticket. The ticket can be purchased at the door or from any PRSSA member on campus. Early bird tickets purchased from a PRSSA member during the week come with VIP status that includes pizza and drinks until 10 p.m. for the same price.
Regional rockers Red Woody will provide entertainment with cover songs from every decade.
