The Northern Illinois track and field team stays in the Land of Lincoln Friday and Saturday for the Lee Calhoun Memorial Invitational in Macomb, Ill.

The meet gets under way at 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, with the hammer, followed by relays that night at 5 p.m. Action resumes Saturday morning at 11 a.m. with the discus and 3000 steeplechase.

“We are taking a small group over to Western Illinois and a lot of the athletes are scaling back in the events they compete in this weekend,” said Huskie head coach Connie Teaberry.

“The staff will use this meet to clean up some technique issues we saw last weekend and the athletes will be looking to improve marks to better their placement in the next three meets which include the MAC Championships. I’m expecting to see strong performances.”

NIU will join 12 other schools at Hanson Field for the two-day meet.
