Andy Small, laboratory manager in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, won a majority of votes cast and will be NIU’s new Employee Advisory Council (EAC) representative to the Civil Service System Merit Board.
Ninety-two votes were cast. The other candidate was Fred Pugh, admissions records supervisor in the Division of Research and Graduate Studies.
Small, an NIU employee since 1989, currently serves as Operating Staff Council president, which includes serving as staff representative to the NIU Board of Trustees, the Supportive Professional Staff Council, the Faculty Senate and the University Council.
He will serve as EAC representative beginning in January 2012 and ending in December 2015.
