Teenage violinist Laura Park to take spotlight Saturday at Kishwaukee Symphony concert

Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra logoThe Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra invites all to enjoy the Arthur D. Montzka Young Artists Concerto Competition concert in celebration of the amazing talent found among Illinois young musicians.

Fifteen-year-old violinist Laura Park, winner of the KSO’s 2010 Arthur D. Montzka Young Artists Concerto Competition, will perform with the orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5, in the Boutell Memorial Concert Hall 0f the NIU Music Building.

Pieces to be performed are Overture to “King Stephen,” Op. 117, by Beethoven; Concerto No. 2 in G Minor for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 63, by Prokofiev, to be performed with Park; and Symphony No. 7, Op. 92, by Beethoven.
