Latino Resource Center seeks positive mentors for Mentoring for Academic Success program

Logo of Mentoring for Academic Success programThe Latino Resource Center is currently seeking mentors for the Mentoring for Academic Success (M.A.S) program for fall 2011.

M.A.S is a mentoring program focused on providing a welcoming environment for incoming Latino first-year and transfer students at NIU.

The program offers new students peer and academic support, social and leadership opportunities, personal growth and leadership development. Latino first-year and transfer students are paired with mentors who can provide guidance and assistance in their transition to college life.

A mentor must have completed at least one year at NIU and be willing to commit time and effort to provide positive and helpful social and academic support to Latino first-year and transfer students.
