Born Cameron Jibril Thomaz, Wiz Khalifa has become a rising star over the past couple years thanks to his young bravado and hardcore-charismatic execution of rhymes.
He has consciously created a sound that was uniquely Pittsburgh, relying on his East Coast (Jay-Z, Wu-Tang Clan), Southern (Three 6 Mafia), and other (Bone Thugs-N-Harmony) hip-hop influences. His style, along with his production team of Johnny Juliano, Sledgren and E. Dan, make this a winning combination for success.
In 2010, with the success of Kush and Orange Juice still present, Wiz Khalifa signed with Atlantic Records.
His song “Black and Yellow,” a known Pittsburgh Steelers anthem, went viral with more than 24 million views on Youtube. His upcoming album will be released March 29.
