College of Business announces birthday contest

January 25, 2011

The NIU College of Business is celebrating its 50th birthday, but the first present will go to the winner of the contest to officially name the year-long celebration of that milestone.

Suggestions for the theme can be submitted online through Friday, Feb. 18. The winning slogan will be included on all materials promoting the anniversary. Anyone can enter.

Prizes of $500, $300 and $100 will be awarded for the top three entries.

Current NIU business students can collect the prize in the form of scholarship dollars, while all others will receive NIU Business Dollars, which can be used to gain free entry into NIU College of Business events throughout the year.

All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges from the NIU College of Business and will be available for online fan voting during the first three weeks of March. Each score will count for half. If a winning idea is submitted by more than one individual, the award will go to the individual who submitted the idea first.

All entries should be seven words or less. Potential slogans could focus on what the NIU College of Business means to an individual, or on some aspect of its reputation, but all ideas will be eligible.
