For the second straight year, the Northern Illinois women’s basketball program is offering kids a chance to live out their dreams of being a public address announcer, DJ, reporter or even control the remote to the biggest TV in DeKalb, the Convocation Center big board.
Kids in eighth-grade and younger can sign up now to do their favorite job at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, for the Huskie women’s basketball game against Miami (OH).
Participants will receive a free ticket to exciting Mid-American Conference women’s basketball action, and get to try their hand at working behind-the-scenes in a top-level college basketball environment.
After the game, the NIU women’s basketball team will hold a one-hour youth clinic for boys and girls in eighth-grade and younger on the main floor of the Convocation Center. Clinic participants should wear athletic clothing and shoes.
Whether kids want to be a PA announcer who gets the crowd in a frenzy, a DJ who spins the tunes, a junior reporter who writes a story that will be posted on NIUHuskies.com, a ball kid or a videoboard operator, “Kids Take Over the Convo” has something for everyone.
