NIU’s Center for Governmental Studies Civic Leadership Academy and the Illinois City/County Management Association will host the third annual Illinois Financial Forecast Forum to discuss pertinent economic and financial issues affecting local governments in Illinois.
The forum, “Private Sector Views that Will Impact the Public Sector,” is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at NIU-Naperville, 1120 E. Diehl Road.
Participants will explore economic conditions and the pressures each exerts on local government fiscal health and gather information to incorporate in their strategic planning, financial forecasts, budget development and economic development plans.
Speakers include Rick Mattoon, economist, Chicago Federal Reserve; residential real estate expert Tracy Cross, Tracy Cross & Associates; commercial real estate expert Steve Wallace; automotive and manufacturing industry expert Scott Watkins, Anderson Economic Group, LLC; and employment expert Rick Cobb, Challenger Gray & Christmas.
The cost before Friday, Jan. 14, is $95 for first attendee, $60 for the second attendee from the same organization and $45 for students. Registration is available online.
