Leadership Awards applications now available, recognition ceremony scheduled for May 1

December 2, 2010

As the end of the fall semester approaches, it is time once again to prepare for the Kevin D. Knight Leadership Awards Ceremony.

This ceremony was established to recognize students who have performed exemplary leadership service throughout the course of the year. There are awards for every student year in school from freshman to graduate students. Other awards available include the Outstanding Student Organization Award and the Advisor of the Year Award.

Additionally, students have the opportunity to apply for institutional tuition waivers.

These awards encourage reflection on the total amount of involvement, leadership development and participation students demonstrate throughout the year. Multiple awards in each category are given out annually, so it is highly recommended that student apply for as many awards as they feel qualified to win.

Applications for all of the Kevin D. Knight Leadership Awards are now available online.

The application reviewers are interested in students detailing their involvement in student organizations, any executive positions they might have held, and also what programs or activities they took an active part in. All applications are due by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25,  to Student Involvement & Leadership Development in Campus Life Building Room 100.

The Kevin D. Knight Awards Ceremony, which occurs annually during the spring semester, is a great opportunity for parents to be invited to campus to witness their student receiving an award for their service over the course of the year. The next ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1. A reception begins at 1 p.m.
