NIU student-artists asked to submit applications to design Women’s History Month poster for 2011

The Women’s Studies Program at NIU is seeking applicants for a student artist to design the 2011 Women’s History Month poster.

The poster-designer position comes with a $250 commission and is sponsored by the Presidential Commission on the Status of Women. The final poster will include the student’s artwork and will be the result of collaboration between the artist and Women’s Studies Program.

Posters are typically 17 inches by 22 inches and include two ink colors. The program especially welcomes applicants who are able to use graphic design (for example, Adobe Illustrator, Quark Express, etc.). Applicants must submit a completed application form and five samples of past work.

Applications are available online for download.

The application deadline has been extended to 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15. The position start date is Monday, Nov. 22. Work likely will need to be completed during winter break.
